After her directorial debut with ‘Scarlet Diva,' Argento chose to bring to the big screen the autobiographical book by JT Leroy: with a cast that includes Peter Fonda, Ornella Mutti and an unrecognizable Marilyn Manson. During the nine months of shooting, Argento didn’t stop being her character, Sarah, a woman who lives on the road working as a prostitute, who has a son, Jeremiah, that she abandons, and then when she takes him back with her, makes him dress as a girl and work as a prostitute too. “Sarah took over me" – tells Asia – "I could never have given that role to another actress and then make her go through what I imposed myself as a director. I didn’t have a single free minute for anyone during 9 months. I lost sight of all my friends."
